Our lives are made up of a series of beautiful ordinary moments, that when woven together, become our life story. In this workshop you will learn how to become more mindful of the moments in your day and use the 1SecondEveryDay app to weave them into a compelling and memorable movie tapestry of your days and months. These visual diaries will become a personal artform to share, and recall places and memories that might have passed unnoticed.

This workshop will be held on two days: October 16 & 23. We are giving participants a one week break between session one and session two so that they have time to gather video content before learning how to stitch their video moments together.

In this workshop you will learn:

o   Basic photographic tools and skills to make handcrafted movies on your phone

o   How to record brief 3 second videos that are compelling

o   The art of visual storytelling

o   How to use the 1SecondEveryDay app to stitch together short video clips

o   Where to find royalty free music and how to use it to create a mood in your movie

o   About my other favorite movie making apps

o   How to create a monthly video diary that encapsulates your month

Participants will have an entire week to complete short videos for their diary.  You will be encouraged to think about your daily moments in creative and poetic ways. Joy will guide you to become more mindful and truly see brief daily ephemeral moments and refine your visual journals to engage viewers. The possibilities are endless.

The first session of the workshop will be held on October, 16. The second session, held on October 23,  will focus on how to stitch your video moments together and add music, if desired.

Please bring a lunch with you each day.
