5th Anniversary Workshop Poetry of Place: MaineBarbara Helfgott-Hyett
We begin Friday evening with writing exercises and dinner at 26 Split Rock Cove. Classes on Saturday and Sunday mornings at 9:30 after breakfast include generative writing exercises, free writes, and revision. Participants will have boxed lunches and can continue to rewrite on their own in various locations, meeting again at 4:30 pm for a workshop critique. Dinner on Saturday is on your own. Sunday late afternoon we will have a reading and our last dinner together.
Lodging will be at the Blue Lupin, minutes away from 26 Split Rock Cove. Each participant will have a room with private or shared bath. Cost will be $475 for the weekend ($325 without lodging) and includes all classes and workshops, Friday and Sunday night dinner, 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and lodging. The Blue Lupin is on Waterman Beach Road overlooking Mussel Ridge Channel and is a 10 minute walk from 26 Split Rock Cove.
26 Split Rock Cove is a 4-hour drive from both the Boston and Worcester areas. There is a Concord bus to Rockland, ME from Boston. Cape Air flies from Boston to Rockland several times a day.
