Out of Stillness into the Now
The quiet meditative space I moved into before starting each sculpture gives my creative spirit new dimension. Coming out of the stillness and into the now is a constant challenge; the choir of voices need to be stilled, so a single voice of the present can be heard.
My inner rhythm and connection to the earth is achieved in my masks and wall sculptures. The creative soul awakens in a slow, intricate dance of pulp, fiber, plant material, clay, image and encaustic. Each gives birth to the next in a never ending cycle, gently incorporating my internal and external relationship with the environment.
